Two words that strike terror in the heart of every home renovator:

Painted wallpaper  (gasp!)

If you're trying to decide whether you should paint over wallpaper
or remove it, today's mini Before and After Wednesday might
make the decision a little easier.

The striking difference in this kitchen leaves me speechless.
Well, not really, but it is truly amazing.

Wallpaper is common in older homes and most of the patterns are dated.
But before making the huge decision on whether to paint over the
paper there are a couple of things you need to do:

1)  inspect the papered walls thoroughly for cracks, tears
and for places where the paper has become detached

2)  watch one of the bazillion YouTube videos on how
to paint over wallpaper

3) consider how much time and money you want to spend on this project

Some people might think that painting over wallpaper is "taking the
easy way out."  Quite the opposite - if the wallpaper wasn't applied
correctly, removing it can actually damage the sheet rock underneath.

Whichever option you choose, I feel your pain.
